Senior Medical Physicist, Radiation Oncology, Permanent, Full Time

We are seeking an experienced senior medical physicist to join a supportive, friendly and enthusiastic team to facilitate exciting clinical developments and
future expansion to a satellite centre on the North Shore of Auckland. 

Joining a team of four physicists and a dedicated medical physics technician, you will actively contribute to all aspects of radiation physics support including quality assurance, dosimetry, commissioning, advising on treatment planning techniques and contributing to development projects and research activities. This post will be responsible for leading the quality control and dosimetry aspects of the service, including overall management of linear accelerators and ancillary devices.

You should possess an MSc in Medical Physics and be certified with the Australasian College of Physics Scientists and Engineers in Medicine (ACPSEM),
or the equivalent in your home country. Preference will be given to candidates with at least four years post-qualified experience and you must have a desire to
improve patient care and enhance the quality of treatments.

We use some of the latest equipment in radiation therapy that includes three Elekta linear accelerators (Agility BLD, HexaPOD 6DOF couch, 4DCBCT and intra-fractional imaging, FFF), Philips Brilliance big bore CT scanner, RayStation TPS, Mosaiq R&V and access to various imaging techniques including PET and MRI. 

We are the first users of the ExacTRAC imaging system in New Zealand and will be upgrading to the ExacTRAC Dynamic system when clinically released in 2020. This investment in technology allows us to deliver a variety of contemporary treatment techniques including IMRT, VMAT and SRT and use a number of novel tools (e.g. deformable image registration and adaptive techniques). We are currently in the process of commissioning a new version of the RayStation TPS and continuing our roll-out of EPID dosimetry (SunCHECK).
